Alexander V. Kochergin studied physics at the M.V.Lomonosov Moscow State University and obtained his Diploma in 1971. He then joined the Department of Surface Phenomena (directed by Prof. Boris V. Derjaguin) of the A.N.Frumkin Institute of Physical Chemistry and Electrochemistry as research assistant. He was later promoted to a position of a junior research fellow. In 1989 he moved together with the group of Prof. Boris V. Derjaguin to the Laboratory of Physical Chemistry of Modified Surfaces as a research fellow. His research interests lie in the area of aerosols, fogs, and modified surfaces.
